October 2019 Snapshot

Welcome to October’s Edition of MyBrandz Snapshot, where we showcase what’s new and exciting in the world of chocolate, snacking, confectionery and beverage.

This month marks the penultimate edition for the 2019 MyBrandz Snapshots and what an absolute cracker it has shaped up to be. With some seriously drool-worthy new products from a number of Australia’s biggest names, prepare for your stomach to start rumbling.

First up, we have new releases from Robern Menz, the Adelaide-based company that purchased the Violet Crumble brand from Nestle in 2018, to great appreciation from Aussies all over the country. Their Violet Crumble Nuggets feature small, perfectly bite-sized pieces that are ideal for snacking on the go. For more great ways to shatter your craving, try their Violet Crumble Dark which combines their classic honeycomb crunch with luxurious dark chocolate.

October is the month where trick and treaters abound, witches and ghouls come out of hiding and (for at least one day), we have the excuse to over-indulge in all things sweet and sugary. Check out our full feature page for some of the best Halloween treats available this year; from Chupa Chup Skulls, to Wizz Fizz Share Packs and Oozer Pops.

After a HIGHLY successful soft launch, Darrell Lea have opted to bring forward the release of their new blocks range to retail and convenience. With the perfect balance of creamy, delicious chocolate and enticing flavours such as Liquorice, Peanut Brittle and even Rocklea Road, they will be available to order through your local The Distributors member towards the end of November. With such a fantastic early response, we recommend getting in quick!

If you’re yet to try the Jersey Caramels from Aus Confec (formerly Candy Brokers), what are you waiting for?! With an amazing buy four, get one free deal for the whole of October, now is the time to try this amazing taste.

Mars Wrigley have created perhaps their most aesthetically pleasing bar ever. Their new Almond Snickers looks like a winner with clean, fresh packaging and feedback so far suggests that the taste is even better. Touted as their most successful Snickers variant yet, we see this being a big one for the medium and king size chocolate bar market.

With the weather starting to heat up again, now is the perfect opportunity to revisit your love affair with coconut water and JT’s Essence offer arguably the tastiest range out there. Did you know that coconut water has 15 times the electrolytes of most sports drinks and yet remains 100% natural? The perfect choice for those better for you ranges, with new packaging and RRPs.

Now, as if all that wasn’t enough, Caramilk is BACK. After creating a frenzy when it was released for a limited run in 2018, the popular “golden chocolate” Cadbury variant has returned to grace our shelves. When it was released last year, it was so popular that it was found being sold on Ebay for over ten times the RRP!

Last but by no means least, it is with our absolute pleasure that MyBrandz welcomes FoodJoy to our community. An Australian company based out of Brisbane who have grown from humble beginnings, obsessing over getting the basics right by researching, trialling and nailing the perfect tastes and textures, to now boasting the most comprehensive range of pork crackle, possibly in the world.  With generous serving sizes and eye-catching packaging, FoodJoy Pork Crackle is an appetizing choice.
